Zikula is a free open source application framework licensed under GNU General Public License. It is Highly Customizable with modular structure, plugins & addons and available in over 36 languages.

Zikula is web server independent, however it is most extensive tested on Apache. Zikula requires PHP, currently supports MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), PostgreSQL, and Oracle.

Zikula was known as PostNuke prior to June 2008. Zikula started as a fork in of PostNuke project which itself was a fork of PHP-Nuke.

Zikula 1.2.3 is a bug fix release for the Zikula 1.2 series. This version contains an important fixes for potential XSS and CSRF vulnerabilities.
