Warzone 2100 2.3.0 Released
Warzone 2100 is an open source fully 3D, based on the iViS games and 3D graphics engine, real-time strategy and real-time tactics hybrid computer game. Compared to other real-time strategy games, it has a greater focus on artillery, radar, and counter-battery technologies, more frequent in-game cinematic updates as game play progresses, a massive research tree, as well as a vehicle design system.
The previous major version was 2.2.0 which was released 31 May 2009. The project remains active and there has been several upgrade releases after that. Almost a year later, Warzone 2100 version 2.3.0 was released on 24 April 2010.
New features:
- More keyboard shortcuts
- Help build and repair allies structures and use repaired units
- Sensor visualization Multiple turrets - Put multiple weapon turrets on a single tank
- Bundled DyDo AI mod - An improved version of the BecomePrey AI, significantly harder than the default AI
- Challenges game mode - A new game mode
- Autoload folder - Easier to install a mod, just drag

- Changes to game balance
- Default AI
- Game lobby - Game lobby now shows the version and mods of all hosted games
- Cheat mode - Easier to activate, but not in multi-player
- Stability
User-contributed maps and mods are now available in Add-ons database.
Warzone was a commercial game, but the source code and most of its data was released under the GNU General Public License from 06 December 6 2004, and finally renamed Warzone 2100 Project.
Warzone was originally developed by Pumpkin Studios and published by Eidos Interactive. It was originally released in 1999 for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation. Warzone 2100 is available under Windows 2000 or higher, Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, Linux and BSD.
