Miro 3.0 Video Player & Miro Video Converter Released
Miro 3.0, a major new version of the video play and Internet television application has been released.
Miro plays video and audio media files in a variety of different formats. This includes Ogg Theora and Vorbis, two formats that are distributed freely and aren’t patent encumbered.
Many publishers have high definition versions of their podcasts available on the Internet. Miro plays the episodes in higher quality than what is available on tv.

User can subscribe to podcasts on the Internet through Miro. Miro can download media items in the podcasts using HTTP as well as BitTorrent. Miro will tell user when the subscribed podcasts to have new items to view. The built-in content guide, Miro Guide, has thousands of free video feeds (many in HD) and streaming video sites. These video and audio programmings and shows are available legally, programmings such as National Geographic, BBC, NPR, PBS, Revision3, BoingBoing TV, Democracy Now, education, news, space, sports, nature, TED Talks, Discovery Channel, Onion News Network, Nova, NASA, tutorials, electronics, do-it-yourself, conference sessions, yoga, health, etc.
Miro is a free software and is licensed under GPL.
