Special glasses needed?
Are 3D TV sets already available in Japan?
How much are they?
While we are still in HD transition phase, Japan is moving forward to 3D TV already!!
Avator gives people a good reason to go to see the movie in the cinemas instead of downloading or waiting for DVD, thus saved cinema operator’s businessess.
TV screens are getting bigger, getting more HD, now this 3D TV thing surely kills cinema once in for all.
@popo: Yes. You will need special glasses. That is a fact of life.
This will be no different than regular television – it is not a Star Trek holodeck or a Star Wars hologram.
Only now, instead of looking at a moving picture on the wall it will be like looking out the window. But you will have to wear glasses.
@Kfeft: 3D TV is HD – as far as broadcasting goes.
You must have the bandwidth to be able to maintain at least 1080p.
To that, you just add the 3D cameras (in order to have 3D content to broadcast) and TVs capable of reproducing 1080p at 120Hz (60Hz per eye).
Higher resolution = less blurring and less eye strain when watching 3D.

A live 3d tennis game would be fun, seeing a tennis ball shooting straight at you!
How about 3d porn, can’t wait.
Amazing! I wish more TV stations/DTB in India started adopting this system (HD+3D). They could start with a few really popular programs and build it as time goes.

I am curious to know, what is the status of HD broadcasting in India at the moment?
Would the 3d glasses the same as the one we used to watch Avatar in the theater? I should have kept the glasses!! ;P
Sounds cool.
Wouldn’t it be cool if we have 3D web cam. We would be like talking with a person who is physcially a world away but feels like he is in the same room with you.
HD TV = digital TV ??
I would need to buy a few more spare 3d glasses ready for guests coming to my house to watch the game… (^-^)
Please keep me informd about the new developments
May I say that your information has helped me considerably, keep up the good work.

Hi there I like your post
Hello. I needed to tell you that some elements of your site are difficult to comprehend for me, as I am color blind. I am a sufferrer of tritanopia, but there are more varieties of color blindness that may also experience difficulties. I will read the largest part of the site OK, and the elements I have problems with I am able to understand by using a special browser. Neverthless, it would be nice if you could remember we color-blind types while carrying out your next website redesign. Thanks.
