<p>The research surveyed 300 people between the age of 20 to 60, 49% male, 51% female. The age distribution is 18.7% in their 20&#8217;s, 33.2% in 30&#8217;s, 26.3% in 40&#8217;s, 12.7% in 50&#8217;s, and 9% in 60&#8217;s.</p>
<p>The survey asked people which search services they use as their main search engine at home the past year, since &#8220;Bing&#8221; entered the search engine market last year.<br />
The results, <a href="http://yahoo.co.jp">Yahoo</a> is 268 people (89%), <a href="http://google.co.jp">Google</a> 190 (63%), <a href="http://infoseek.co.jp/">Infoseek Rakuten</a> 78 (26%), while <a href="http://www.bing.com/?cc=jp">Bing</a> is only 6 (2%).</p>
<p>Other main search being used at home in Japan are, <a href="http://www.goo.ne.jp">goo</a> 62 (20.6%), <a href="http://www.biglobe.ne.jp/">BIGLOBE</a> 41 (13.6%), <a href="http://jp.msn.com">MSN</a> 39 (13%), <a href="http://www.nifty.ne.jp/">nifty</a> 16 (5.3%), <a href="http://www.livedoor.com/">livedoor</a> 12 (4%), <a href="http://www.baidu.jp/">Baidu</a> 7 (2.3%), others 24 (8%).</p>
<p>When asked what they use as the main search engines at work, the result is, Yahoo 117 people (39%), Google 84 (28%), Infoseek Rakuten 17 (5.6%), while Bing is 4 (1.3%).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Baidu, China largest search engine and third largest in the world, and Rakuten, Japan largest e-commerce company, announce a joint venture aiming to establish and operate China largest online shopping mall.</p>
<p>The online shopping mall will create a platform for other businesses to establish their internet outlets to provide products and services to the vast number of Chinese internet users, which is estimated to be around 384 million users in 2009.</p>
<p>In the future, the Chinese online shopping mall and Rakuten Japanese could be linked up to allow Chinese and Japanese businesses to promote their services and products in both markets.</p>
<p>The online shopping mall is expected to start operating within this year (2010).</p>
