eFront Released v3.5.5 Patch To Fix Security Issue

eFront logoThis is release to fix a security issue. A malicious user using a specially crafted URL could acquire web server privileges on systems running efront 3.5.x versions. There is a new 3.5.5 release to fix this security issue.
A patch is already available, all 3.5.x users are strongly recommended to download and apply it.

eFront is a open source e-learning platform, also known as a Course Management System (CMS), or Learning Management Systems (LMS), or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

The platform offers features such as content creation, test builder, project management, extended statistics, internal messaging system, forum, chat, surveys, etc.

eFront comes with a icon-based user interface. Several features of the platform (e.g., skills management, organization structure) make it suitable for inner organization usage, especially at human resource departments. eFront is a multilingual platform offered in 41 languages, some are machine translated, some are human translated.

eFront has a Commercial Editions and a Community Edition, which uses the Common Public Attribution License Version 1.0 (CPAL). Latest version are v3.6.1 / build 6235 (released on 12 March 2010) and v3.5.5 / build 6301 (14 March 2010).
